Afternoon Crash Sends Truck Driver To Hospital

New Castle – This afternoon around 2:30 p.m. Henry County Dispatch received a report of a semi on its side on the ramp from I-70 west bound to SR3, the New Castle Exit. Trooper Scott Keegan and Sergeant Todd Wallace arrived to find a semi off of the north side berm of the ramp on its driver’s side.

The driver, Kenneth Moore, age 40 of Warren, Michigan, was sent to the Henry County Hospital with minor injuries.  The 2001 Freightliner Moore was driving was pulling a box trailer loaded with insulation. Preliminary investigation is that Moore’s truck entered the curve of the ramp too fast, and the truck flipped onto its side after it drove off of the ramp and over the emergency strip onto the soft shoulder.

Trooper Keegan cited Moore for Speed Too Fast to Avoid Collision. Keegan was assisted at the scene by ISP Sergeant Todd Wallace, the Henry County Sheriff’s Department, Henry County EMS and the Spiceland Fire Department.

The Pendleton District covers the eight counties of Delaware, Madison, and Randolph; Henry, Wayne, Union, Rush and Fayette counties.  Motorists are encouraged to report suspected impaired drivers by calling 9-1-1.
