The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Investigation Unit Detectives are presently investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of Colleen Ramirez, a resident of the Sonoma valley. During the initial response to the scene, patrol Deputies contacted people to determine their role, if any, in the incident.
Salvador Loera Escobedo, a 49 year old man from Vallejo, was detained during the early investigation into the death. Escobedo was arrested for an outstanding warrant from Solano County. He was booked into Sonoma County Jail and posted bail for his out of county warrant. He was detained because of the investigation and arrested for the warrant. Escobedo is not considered a suspect in her death.
The Sonoma County Sheriff Coroner’s Office has performed an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of Ramirez’ death. The results of the autopsy will be available to the authorized persons when the forensic pathologist’s report is finalized. Preliminary results of the autopsy will not be disclosed.
This is an open investigation. Information is released only when it does not compromise the integrity of the case or the rights of involved parties.
