The Amarillo Police Department is currently investigating a Public Accident at the City of Amarillo landfill at 16250 Bezner west of the city. There are very little details available at this time. The call came into the AECC at 2:56pm regarding a public accident at the landfill and that an ambulance was needed. An individual has died as a result of the accident; however next of kin has not been notified at this time so no further details are available. At this time we can confirm that it was not a city employee. Additional details will be released at a later time.
