A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued until 7 p.m.

An organized line of severe thunderstorms associated with a cold front is expected to move through this afternoon between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. with the main action occurring between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Use caution while driving during the evening commute.

There is a good threat for strong and borderline severe winds of 50-70 miles per hour, with the potential for downed trees and power lines.

Brief downpours will also accompany the storms, though only minor roadway flooding is expected. Storms are expected to contain a high amount of cloud to ground lightning.

Isolated small hail is possible.
