Yesterday Chula Vista Police Department released information regarding the arrest of 5 of 6 suspects in a series of crimes in Chula Vista. Yesterday, on 6/18/15 Crimes of Violence detectives confirmed the identity of a 7th suspect identified as a 17 year old male (turning 18 this month).
(Sam Armstead is still outstanding and police are seeking his arrest).
The arrest was made at the suspect’s residence at 1971 Versailles Road at 3:30 p.m. by members of the US Marshal’s Fugitive Team. A subsequent search warrant was served at the residence by CVPD Crimes of Violence Detectives.
Detectives identified the juvenile as the third suspect in the 5-23-15 robbery in the 500 block of North Brook Avenue of a victim seeking to purchase a “Go Pro” camera.
He was also identified as a suspect in the two robberies of middle school children on 5-26-15, and the one who pointed a handgun at the victim (believed to be a BB gun/replica firearm).
Chula Vista Police believe there are additional victims who have been assaulted or robbed by these suspects.
