Pomona Police participate in "JUNETEENTH CELEBRATION" with community members at Willie White Park.
On today's date members of the Pomona Police Department joined community members in celebration of "JUNETEENTH". The community gathered at the Willie White Park Community Center, to celebrate, eat and talk about what this day means.
JUNETEENTH, celebrates news of the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation by President Lincoln on January 1,1863, reaching the City of Galveston, Texas on June 19,1865. This day, JUNETEENTH, commemorates African American freedom.
