Update# 2 - Wildcat Fire
Update as of June 18, 2015
CAL FIRE says the Wildcat Fire on the Barona Indian Reservation has now burned 170 acres. So far, firefighters have contained 38% of the fire. There are no evacuations or structures being threatened. All roads have reopened.
San Diego County remains under a heat advisory through Sunday. Stay safe.

UPDATE #1
Per CAL FIRE, a brush fire burning on the Barona Indian Reservation is currently at 50 acres and is 10% contained, with a slow rate of spread. There are no mandatory evacuations in effect. There were approximately seven to ten preliminary evacuations conducted by the San Diego County Sheriffs Department early in the incident for the safety of residents.
Wildcat Canyon Road continues to be closed between Founders Way and San Vicente Road.
Several hundred firefighters are fighting the fire from the ground and the air. Several agencies are involved in the incident including, but not limited to CAL FIRE, U.S. Forest Service, Barona Fire Department, Heartland Units, San Diego County Sheriffs Department, San Diego County OES, American Red Cross.

This is the San Diego County Sheriff's Department with a safety message on Wednesday, June 17th.
A 30-acre brush fire is burning near the 1000 block of Barona Road on the Barona Indian Reservation. Seven homes near Wildcat Canyon Road were advised to evacuate. Barona Tribal Security is helping with a temporary evacuation point at Barona Casino.
Deputies from Rancho San Diego, Imperial Beach, Poway and Ramona Stations/Substations are assisting with this incident. Be aware of increased law enforcement activity in the area and avoid the area if you can.
