*Update-One Killed in Crash on I-65/I-465 Ramp-Update*

Indianapolis, IN- A crash on the northwest side of Indianapolis late this morning has claimed the life of an Indianapolis man.

Today at approximately 10:05 a.m., Indiana State troopers were dispatched to the ramp from I-65 SB to I-465 SB at the 123mm on the report of a serious personal injury crash.

Preliminary investigation reveled that Ronald Johnson, 47, of Dayton, Ohio was sitting in the cab of a Freightliner semi-tractor with a box trailer on the right side emergency lane. Johnson’s semi-tractor had experienced mechanical problems and he was waiting on assistance. Johnson was off the roadway and had placed emergency triangles behind his vehicle.

For reasons unknown at this time, Murat Morrison, 51, of Indianapolis, drove a 2009 Chevrolet pickup into the rear of Johnson’s parked semi-tractor trailer. The pickup left no indications of an evasive maneuver or brake marks.

Morrison was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Marion County Coroner’s Office. The family has been notified. Johnson was transported to Eskenazi Hospital for complaint of pain to his arm.
