DROWNING VICTIM RECOVERD

Drowning victim CHRISTOPHER J MOSTELLO (30 years of age) of Southside was recovered by crews from the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office and the Southside Police Department at 5:07 am this date. Crews have been on scene around the clock since the first 911 call was received Sunday afternoon. He was located within the boundary that was initially identified as the primary search area. The victim was sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences (at the request of ALEA) for autopsy which is standard procedure for this type of death. .Agencies involved in the search and recovery operation were: The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (Marine Patrol Division), Etowah County Sheriff’s Office, Southside Police Dept., Rainbow City Police Dept., Southside Fire Dept., Rainbow City Fire Dept., AMED Ambulance Service, The Etowah County Sheriff’s Office Crisis Chaplaincy Team, Gadsden/Etowah Emergency Management agency, The Cherokee County Rescue Squad and the Etowah County Coroner’s Office. Sheriff Entrekin states: “Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Mostello family. I also want to commend my deputies and the many agencies that worked together to make this operation successful and safe.”
