Community Meeting regarding Car/Ride Share Impacts on Taxicab Franchises June 18 at 6pm at the City Council Chambers
The City of Sunnyvale, Department of Public Safety is conducting a study on Car/Ride Share Impacts on Taxicab Franchises. Car/ride share businesses have evolved over the past several years. Of the more commonly known businesses, or Transportation Network Company (TNC) services, Uber and Lyft use smartphone applications to connect passengers with drivers who provide the services in their personal vehicles. There are concerns over the increasing popularity of TNCs and that TNCs may be negatively impacting local taxicab businesses. Members of the public are invited to attend a community meeting to express their ideas and opinions about issues that are important to you relating to car/ride share programs and/or taxicab services in Sunnyvale. Please join City staff at the following community meeting to contribute to the discussion!
