Tuesday May 26

Aggravated Assault – 700 Blk. N. Fair Oaks
Time: 2130
Officers responded on a report of a large group fighting in a parking lot. Upon arrival, the participants had fled the scene but officers were able to stop some participants in the area. It appeared to be a gang related incident in which bats and tire irons were used as weapons. A subject with a significant head injury was located at a local hospital later in the evening. Detectives are continuing the investigation.

Thursday May 28

Residential Burglary – 800 Blk. Mango
Time: 0604
The residents were awakened by the sound of someone inside their house. The resident chased the suspect out of the house and the suspect ran away. Officers arrived in the area and the suspect was contacted by an officer. The suspect ran and a foot chase ensued. The suspect was chased for approximately ¾ of a mile and was subsequently apprehended in the parking garage of an apartment complex by a DPS K9. The suspect was booked into County Jail for burglary, resisting arrest, and probation violation.

Friday May 29

Robbery – 576 E. El Camino
Time: 0305
Two unknown suspects entered the CVS store and stole several bottles of liquor. When confronted by store employees, one of the suspects threatened to shoot the employee with a gun (none was seen). The suspects fled on foot.

Residential Burglary – 800 Blk. San Junipero
Time: 1120 – 1130
Unknown suspects entered the residence via an unlocked front door and stole electronics and jewelry. The suspects fled when they were observed by a neighbor.

Mutual Aid – San Rafael & Colusa
Time: 2215
CHP attempted to stop a stolen vehicle in the area of San Rafael and Colusa and the driver fled on foot. DPS assisted CHP in searching for the suspect. The Sheriff’s Office helicopter also assisted in the search. The suspect was not located.

Saturday May 30

Residential Burglary – 1400 Blk. Valcartier
Time: 5/21 – 5/30
Unknown suspect entered the residence by prying open a rear window and stole cash and jewelry.

Monday June 1

Vehicle Extrication – Lawrence & Tasman
Time: 1945
DPS personnel responded on a collision involving a vehicle that had rolled-over. Fire personnel stabilized the vehicle and cut open the roof to extricate the occupant.

Thursday June 4

Hazardous Materials – 1300 Blk. Kifer
Time: 1337
A transport driver reported a sound coming from a bucket of lithium batteries he was transporting. The DPS Hazardous Materials team responded and determined a chemical reaction was occurring in the bucket and the chemicals were venting. The Haz Mat team determined there was no risk to the public, mitigated the hazard from the transport vehicle, and contained it within the bucket of origin.

Friday June 5

Attempted Residential Burglary – 700 Blk. San Tomas
Time: 0844
The resident heard someone knocking on the front door of the residence, but the resident did not answer. The resident then saw the unknown suspect in the backyard of the residence and the suspect attempted to break open a rear window. When the suspect saw the resident, the suspect fled on foot.

Saturday June 6

Robbery – 1063 Morse
Time: 0230
As the victims were getting out of their car in the parking lot of the apartment complex, they were approached by an unknown suspect who pointed a gun at them and demanded jewelry and money. The suspect removed jewelry from the victims and left the area on foot.

Aggravated Assault – 1200 Blk. Lawrence Station Rd.
Time: 1312
The suspect and an accomplice approached the victim and confronted him regarding an altercation they were involved in a couple of years ago. The suspect pulled out a knife and threatened to stab the victim. The victim sprayed the suspect with mace and the suspect and accomplice fled on foot. Officers located the suspect and accomplice in the area and they were both arrested.
