The Signal Hill Police Department has an important message for you! All fireworks are illegal in the city of Signal Hill.

All fireworks including “Safe & Sane” fireworks are illegal in Signal Hill. This Fourth of July, the Signal Hill Police Department encourages Signal Hill residents to attend licensed firework shows conducted by professionals.

A few Southern California cities may allow the use of "safe and sane" fireworks; however, fireworks of any form are illegal in Los Angeles County unincorporated communities. In addition, all fireworks are illegal in many of Los Angeles County's 88 cities which, includes the city of Signal Hill. Although fireworks laws are in place, there are still numerous local residents who believe that they are allowed to use fireworks, as the practice is a tradition and performed in neighborhoods across the Southland.
