Sunday, the Choctaw County Sheriff’s Office requested OSBI assistance with a shooting that occurred before noon at 418 North 4280 Road in Messer, just north of Hugo. Rory Clement, 53, went to the Choctaw Memorial Hospital with a gunshot wound to his mouth. There, he was able to tell deputies who shot him and the events that took place up to the shooting. During an interview at the sheriff’s office Sunday evening, an OSBI agent arrested Jason Pierce (3/31/71) for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and booked him into the Choctaw County jail. The victim and suspect were acquaintances. Both men are from Choctaw County.
