#LASD - "Feed the Need" in the City of Rosemead, Temple Station
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Temple Station deputies on the Special Assignment Team in Rosemead partnered with the "Living Hope Faith Center" of Riverside to help strengthen the bonds between law enforcement and the community. The operation took place on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at approximately 4:00 p.m. in the Rosemead community.
Deputies, volunteers and members from “Living Hope Faith Center” distributed donated non-perishable food to needy families in the area. Deputies were able to identified needy families through Rosemead city resources.
They conducted unexpected door knocks at the identified residences. A positive dialogue was initiated with the residents and a neighborhood survey was taken. The survey addressed safety concerns and quality of life issues. Deputies also furnished community resource information to each residence.
At the completion of the interaction, donated food was provided by the deputies, volunteers and members of the Living Hope Faith Center. The team visited twenty-five homes.
The operation was very successful and strengthened community ties between law enforcement, community resources and needy residents. Useful information was gathered from the surveys and personal bonds with community based deputies were strengthened.
