On Thursday, May 28, 2015 at around 11:30AM we received reports of a traffic collision involving a motorcycle and a vehicle on Moffett Blvd. just south of the Highway 85 overpass. The motorcycle rider, identified as a 25 year-old Gilroy man, was transported to a local hospital where he died due to injuries sustained from the collision.

The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and was cooperative with investigating officers. The cause of the collision remains under investigation, however, it does not appear either drugs or alcohol were a factor. Both lanes of southbound Moffett Blvd. remain closed at this time as officers complete their investigation.

We are currently investigating a collision on Moffett Blvd. at the Highway 237 on-ramp. Traffic heading south on Moffett Blvd. at Highway 237 is blocked off, but you can still get on to Highway 237/85 just not past the on-ramp for those wanting to head towards Middlefield Road.

Traffic heading north on Moffett Blvd., or towards Highway 101, cannot make the left turn on to the Highway 237/85 on-ramp. Please take alternate routes and/or avoid the area. We will let you know once we have cleared the area. Thank you for your patience.
