Who:     Los Angeles Regional Crime Stoppers, Shred-It, NIX Neighborhood Lending, TARGET, Granada Hills, Los Angeles Police Department’s Devonshire Division, and Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.  

What:    Los Angeles Regional Crime Stoppers is hosting a Protect Your Identity - Free Shred-It Event for the community to bring all unwanted personal documents to an on-site mobile shredding at TARGET, Granada Hills. Identity Theft affects nearly 15 million persons a year and is the fastest growing crime.  The approximate loss for each person is $3,500 with over $50 billion in damages.            

               Los Angeles Regional Crime Stoppers is seeking the public’s participation in shredding their documents as a way of protecting their identification.  Crime Stoppers is a private, non-profit anonymous tip program that helps solve, reduce and prevent crime.  Tax deductible voluntary contributions will be accepted that benefit the Crime Stoppers tip reward program.    

When:   Saturday, May 30, 2015 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
