On 5/27/15, at approximately 10:18 PM, the Chula Vista Police Department received several 911 calls reporting a traffic accident involving a pedestrian on “E” Street (600 Block). Officers arrived on scene and discovered that an adult male had been struck by a single vehicle traveling westbound on “E” Street. The driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene.

The pedestrian was unresponsive and unconscious at the scene. He was transported to UCSD where he would succumb to his injuries.

Witnesses at the scene saw the pedestrian walking across the street northbound, not in a crosswalk when he was struck by the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was not under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision.

The Chula Vista Police Traffic Division will be conducting the investigation.
