Narrative:
Major Crime detectives and Detention Services jail personnel are investigating an inmate death that occurred at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility in Ventura. There was no indication of violence.
On May 25, 2015, at about 4:30 a.m., deputies discovered that Solorzano hung himself in his cell. Solorzano was not breathing. Jail and medical staff provided rescue CPR in attempts to revive him. Ventura City Fire Department responded and also treated Solórzano. Solorzano was pronounced deceased at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility.
The cause of death is under investigation by the Sheriff’s Major Crimes Unit. The results from an autopsy by the Medical Examiner are pending. As a matter of policy and procedure, all inmate deaths are investigated by the Sheriff’s Major Crimes Unit.
