**Update** West Hills High School Bomb Threat
The Santee Sheriff's Station is investigating who phoned in a bomb threat against West Hills High School on May 26th. A school staff received a call just after 9:00 a.m. Someone who sounded like a boy claimed there are four backpacks with bombs all over campus.
Sheriff's Bomb/Arson Unit responded along with assistance from the FBI, ATF, Santee Fire Department, San Diego Fire Bomb Squad and El Cajon Police. They searched the campus and found unattended backpacks, but they did not pose any threats.
The lockdown was lifted at 12:30 p.m.
It is against the law to make a bomb threat. You could be arrested and subject to prosecution which means time in prison or jail.
Detectives are working to track down the person behind the threat. Anyone with information about this case is urged to call the Crime Stoppers Student Speaking Out Hotline at (888) 580-8477.
