INCIDENT: Homicide/Missing Person Investigation

LOCATION: Victorville

VICTIM: Alberto “Jimmy” Felix, age 34 of Victorville

SUSPECT: Zachary Steven Barron, age 23 of Victorville
Anthony Tapia, age 32 of Apple Valley
UPDATE – May 26, 2015
On Tuesday, May 26th, the District Attorney’s Office filed murder charges on suspects Zachary Steven Barron and Anthony Tapia for the murder of Alberto “Jimmy” Felix. At approximately 5:00 p.m. today, Anthony Tapia was taken into custody without incident at a residence in Apple Valley.

UPDATE – May 22, 2015:
Sheriff’s Homicide Investigators continued to follow leads this week regarding the disappearance of Alberto ‘Jimmy’ Felix. On Thursday, May 21, 2015 Investigators served a search warrant at an Apple Valley home and upon further investigation, were led to the desert area in the north west area of the Town of Apple Valley where they located a shallow grave containing unidentified human remains.

On Friday, May 22, 2015 the remains were recovered and positively identified as Alberto Felix. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.

Homicide Investigators arrested Zachary Barron for the murder of Alberto Felix. Barron is being held at the High Desert Detention Center without bail.

UPDATE – May 19, 2015
The investigation into the disappearance of Alberto "Jimmy" Felix is continuing and evidence suggests Mr. Felix was murdered. Investigators from the Sheriff's Specialized Investigations Division - Homicide Detail are following up on numerous leads. Investigators are currently working with the Sheriff's Aviation Division, using both fixed wing aircraft and helicopters to investigate leads and specific locations. SUMMARY:
On Tuesday, March 17, 2015, at approximately 9:01 a.m., deputies from the Victorville Police Department took a report regarding a possible missing person, Alberto “Jimmy” Felix. Deputies were informed that Mr. Felix had not been seen or heard from since Sunday, March 15th.
Due to the suspicious nature of this investigation, investigators from the Sheriff’s Specialized Investigation Division were requested and are assisting with the investigation.
On Wednesday, March 18th, investigators were continuing with their investigation at a residence in the 14300 block of Cactus Drive in Victorville.
