Farm irrigation: Please keep water off roadways
GRANT COUNTY, Wash. (26MAY2015) - With commercial farming underway, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office is reminding farmers that they must make sure they keep their irrigation circles from affecting roadways.
Said Sheriff Tom Jones, “It’s that time of year again where we’re getting end guns from crops throwing volumes of water onto county roadways. That water erodes the pavement and makes driving hazardous for motorists. The Sheriff’s Office is a good neighbor and community partner, and we will try and educate those whose irrigation creates a road hazard, but deputes will issue citations to repeat offenders.”
