5-22-15, press release - burglaries

Since May 18th, 2015 the Burlington Police Department received numerous reports of restaurants in the city being burglarized. Burlington Police detectives, officers, and identification technicians processed the scenes and were able to gather evidence from them. During the investigation, Chad Paquette was identified as a person of interest in the burglaries.

During the morning of May 22, 2015, Paquette passed an alert Burlington police officer who recognized him and knew he had outstanding warrants. A short pursuit ensued and Paquette was taken into custody after jumping off of a second story balcony and struggling with officers. Upon his arrest, he was found to be in possession of money believed to have been taken from one of the restaurants.

Paquette was arraigned on one burglary charge and numerous other charges are pending further investigation. Due to the warrants, additional charge, and history of fleeing from the police, Paquette was held in the custody of the Department of Corrections.
