Petaluma PD Hosting Spanish Language Community Academy This Saturday (Openings Still Available)

The Petaluma Police Department is hosting a Spanish Language Community Academy on May 30, 2015 from 8am to 5pm.

The Spanish Language Community Academy is a one day course that provides community members with an inside view of their police department and its operations presented by Spanish speaking Police Officers. The Spanish Language Community Academy offers community members an inside look at police operations and how their police department is structured.

Participants will have the opportunity to meet and interact with the Chief of Police, Police Officers, Dispatchers, and Civilian Personnel within the police department. Spanish Language Community Academy participants will have the opportunity to schedule a ride-a-long with a police officer to experience police work first-hand.

This program is not designed for police officer candidates. It is an overview of the police department operations for members of the community.

Individuals living or working in Petaluma will be given priority. Persons living outside Petaluma may be accepted based on available space with Chief of Police approval.

Must be at least 18 years of age and have no felony convictions.

All applications are subject to approval. All applicants are subject to a basic records check prior to acceptance for the course.

Inquiries about the Spanish Language Community Academy can be directed to Corporal Rivera at (707) 781-1242 or Sergeant Miller at (707) 781-1241
