5-25-15, press release: assault and robbery

On 25 May 2015 at approximately 02:06am, the Burlington Police Department responded to the area of S. Winooski Avenue and Cherry Street after received a 911 call from a female victim who reported that an individual had attempted to steal her purse while she and a male friend were walking on S. Winooski Avenue.

The suspect was unsuccessful in his attempt; however a confrontation ensued between the suspect and the male friend and as a result the male victim was physically assaulted by the suspect. After the assault the suspect fled the area. The male victim was subsequently transported to UVM Medical Center with non life threatening facial injuries.

The suspect is described as a thin white male, approximately 5'5" - 5'9", approximately 25-30yo with short brown hair and a 5 o'clock shadow. The suspect was last observed wearing blue jeans and a flannel shirt.
