Driver involved in this morning’s Gorge Campground incident is identified
Near GEORGE, Wash. (23MAY2015) – The driver of the compact car which struck cars, tents and at least three people inside the Gorge Campground this morning is identified as Tanner A. Drayton-Williams, age 19 of Woodland Hills, Calif. He was arrested and is now in the Grant County Jail for suspicion of four counts of second degree assault. Evidence suggests Drayton-Williams was driving while impaired.
The three persons struck by his car were all taken by ambulance to Quincy Valley Hospital. Two were treated and released. The third person was transferred to Confluence Health-Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee for treatment of multiple broken bones and internal injuries.
There were several people who sustained minor injuries but were not taken to the hospital. Drayton-Williams was also treated and released from Quincy Valley Hospital.
The investigation continues and more charges are likely.
