At least 4 people injured as car drives through campsites at Gorge Campground

EARLY, PRELIMINARY INFORMATION SUBJECT TO CHANGE

Near GEORGE, Wash. (23MAY2015) – At least four people were injured, two seriously, when a car drove over several campsites at the Gorge Campground Saturday morning.

Emergency responders were called about 9:30 a.m. after the car, driven by a 19-year-old man from California, drove over several tents and struck pedestrians and parked cars. The driver is in custody. The incident scene is under control.

At least four people were injured and transported by ambulance to Quincy Valley Medical Center. Two of the victims have injuries which were described as serious.

Grant County Sheriff’s Office Motor Traffic Unit investigators are on the scene. They are currently surveying the scene and interviewing the driver and witnesses.

This is an evolving incident and more information will be released throughout the day.
