An unidentified male has been calling local residents and demanding money. This person is falsely identifying themselves as L.A. County Sheriffs Department Sergeant Jim Wallace and is demanding money for the stated purpose of clearing outstanding arrest warrants. The person is calling from 323-219-0145, which is a prepaid cell phone and is untraceable.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department does not call the public and demand money to clear arrest warrants as this person is doing. The public is strongly urged to report any phone calls received from this person or of similar fraudulent nature.
