OPD makes robbery arrest and Police Work Together to Capture Bank Robbery Suspect
Strong Arm Robbery Suspect Arrested – On Thursday, May 14 at about 7:40 a.m., a woman in the 3400 block of Calandria Avenue was robbed. The suspect took her purse and fled. The victim and witnesses provided a description of the suspect and the vehicle in which he fled. The next day at 1:00 p.m., Oakland Police officers patrolling the area observed the suspect and suspect vehicle and attempted to make a traffic enforcement stop. After a short vehicle pursuit, officers were able to take the robbery suspect into custody and recover some loss. Investigators believe the suspect may be connected to other related crimes. Thanks to those who provided detailed information, officers were able to locate and arrest a robbery suspect.
OPD, CHP, and The Antioch Police Department Work Together to Capture Bank Robbery Suspect – On Saturday, May 16 at approximately 6:45 p.m., Oakland Police officers and the OPD tactical team responded to the 10500 block of Topanga Drive to assist the California Highway Patrol and Antioch Police Department in capturing a wanted bank robbery suspect. After robbing a bank in Antioch, the suspect led police on a chase that ended in Oakland, where he was seen fleeing into a residence. Once inside, he held a victim hostage: eventually, she was able to escape unharmed and he was arrested. Thanks to this coordinated effort undertaken by three local law enforcement agencies working together, a bank robber has been safely taken into custody.
