Deputy involved traffic collision in Pomona

Driving a black Chevy Camaro
SUMMARY:
On Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at approximately 2:48 a.m., Deputy Gary Dominguez from the Fontana Sheriff’s Station observed what he believed to be a vehicle theft occurring in the area of Grand Avenue and Pipe Line in the unincorporated area of Montclair. Deputy Dominguez activated the emergency lights and sirens of his marked patrol unit in attempts to conduct a traffic stop on a black Integra. The driver of the Integra failed to yield and a pursuit ensued. The pursuit traveled westbound on Grand Avenue for approximately one-half of a mile. When the marked patrol unit entered the intersection of Grand Avenue and Reservoir, in pursuit of the suspect vehicle, the deputy collided with a black Chevy Camaro. The driver of the Camaro was taken to a local area hospital with minor injuries. Deputy Dominguez was also transported to a local area hospital where he was treated and released.
The suspect driving the black Integra continued westbound on Grand Avenue and remains outstanding.
The Pomona Police Department is conducting the traffic collision investigation.
