Deputies arrest Lattice Perkins on numerous charges, including burglary & believe she may have victimized others

DATE/TIME: May 19, 2015

INCIDENT: Receiving Stolen Property, Vehicle Theft and Residential Burglary

LOCATION: 12000 Block of Quail Ct., Rancho Cucamonga

SUSPECT(S): Lattice Perkins, age 28, transient from the Los Angeles area

VICTIM(S): Confidential


SUMMARY: On May 18, 2015, a resident of Rancho Cucamonga had his vehicle stolen from the City of Los Angeles. The next day, the victim arrived home from work and pulled into his driveway. At that time, the victim noticed his garage door begin to open and observed his stolen vehicle, in the garage, occupied by a female adult later identified as Lattice Perkins. Perkins attempted to drive away in the victim's stolen vehicle, but was blocked. Perkins quickly exited the vehicle and fled on foot. The victim and his son detained Perkins until deputies Richard Buss and Gerard Deloria arrived on scene, taking Perkins into custody.

Inside the stolen vehicle, deputies located personal property belonging to Perkins and a bank card belonging to the victim of the vehicle theft. Additionally, several items believed to be personal property belonging to victims of fraud and identity theft were found in the vehicle.

Deputy Veronica Lopez and Detective Matt Gordon responded to take over the investigation. It is believed Perkins has used credit cards and the identities of several other victims in the greater San Bernardino and Los Angeles areas.

It is further believed Perkin’s was able to use the vehicle’s GPS to locate the victim's residence and was in the process of committing a residential burglary.

Perkins was booked into the West Valley Detention Center for burglary, vehicle theft and receiving stolen property. Investigators believe Perkins has committed similar crimes and additional victims may recognize her photograph.
