ORIGINAL RELEASE:

On Thursday April 9th at 1:40 pm, APD officers were sent to the 4000 block of Julie on a robbery that just occurred. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the 81 year old home owner who stated that 2 B/M’s had just tied him and a relative up and robbed them. The gentleman stated he was outside working in his yard when he heard some commotion coming from the alley. He went to the alley and observed 2 B/M’s that appeared to be “working” on a car that had some mechanical problems. The homeowner spoke briefly with the two males then went back to his yard work. A few minutes later, a relative, a 42 year female arrived and spoke with the homeowner. They then decided that maybe they should call the police because of the suspicious activity in the alley. As the two went inside the residence to contact police, they found the same two B/M subjects that had been in the alley now inside the residence. The suspects threw the homeowner down and struck him a couple of times. One of the B/M’s was armed with knife and stabbed the homeowner twice, once in the shoulder and once in the side. The suspects then forced the homeowner and the female to a back bedroom where they were tied up. The suspect’s stole cash and cell phones from the victims and left the residence. The victims were able to free themselves and called police. The homeowner was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries. The first suspect is described as a B/M in his 30’s, 6’2, wearing a black hoodie and a grey ball cap, the second suspect is also in his 30’s and approximately 5’7 tall. There is no further description of either suspect. The vehicle is described as an early 2000 year model dark blue Chevrolet. Anyone with information on the identity of these two individuals is asked to contact the Amarillo Police Department or call Amarillo Crime Stoppers at 374.4400
