The Kern County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public’s assistance in locating Michael Gutierrez. Gutierrez is a person of interest in an ongoing homicide investigation.

On March 29, 2015 Nicolas Gomez was shot to death in the 1200 block of Quincy St. in east Bakersfield. On April 28th, video surveillance was released to the public which showed several people walking and running from the scene after the shooting. Gutierrez has been identified as one of the persons depicted in the video. In the video, Gutierrez hair appears to be long and curly.

Homicide detectives are attempting to locate him. He is known to frequent the east Bakersfield and Shafter area.

Detectives are still also attempting to locate Martha Noriega as a person of interest in this case.

Homicide Investigation

The Kern County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public’s assistance in a homicide investigation.

On March 29^th, 2015 at about 4:10 am deputies responded to a report of gunshots in the area of the 1200 block of Quincy Street in east Bakersfield. When deputies arrived they found 51 year old Nicolas Gomez suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his face and torso. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses reported hearing several gunshots and then observing a group of people fleeing the area on foot prior to deputies arriving on scene. Video footage from a nearby business captured several people running and walking from the area after the shooting. The video footage is attached.
