On May 17, 2015, at approximately 3:37 p.m., the Fremont Police Department and the Fremont Fire Department were called to the area of Walnut Avenue between California St. and Fremont Blvd. on the report of a man down. Officers and paramedics arrived at the scene and declared the male to be deceased. The Alameda County Coroner’s Office has been called to respond and will be responsible for determining the cause of death. At this point in the investigation, there is nothing suspicious about the death.
We anticipate Walnut Ave being closed between California Street and Fremont Blvd. until approximately 8:00 p.m.
