The Sheriff's Department wants your help in locating an inmate who has escaped from the East Mesa Re-Entry Facility in Otay Mesa.
Take a good look at the attached photo of 37-year-old Omar Ramirez Sandoval.
It was around 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 16th that it was discovered that Sandoval was missing from the East Mesa Re-Entry Facility and had escaped.
Sandoval, an inmate worker, was last seen at the facility around 7:00 a.m. He was wearing a tan and white inmate worker uniform with "SD Jail" markings.
Sandoval was being held for the sale and transportation of narcotics and had been sentenced to nine years in prison. He was pending deportation proceedings.
The escaped inmate is described as a Hispanic man standing 5'8" tall, weighing 180 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He was clean shaven with a short crew-type hair style.
