Lake in the Hills Police responds to resident concerns about speeding autos.
Lake in the Hills, Il – Lake in the Hills Police took action after receiving complaints about speeding autos on Frank Road between Miller Road and Algonquin Road. Upon receiving the complaints the Lake in the Hills Traffic Calming Committee conducted an engineering speed study to determine the level of violations on the roadway.
On Wednesday May 13th the Lake in the Hills Police conducted a speed enforcement zone on Frank Road in response to the residents concern. Between the hours of 3:30pm and 7:30 pm three Officers were assigned to monitor that area and take enforcement action where violations were observed. During that time frame twenty three vehicles were stopped for speeding on Frank Road between Miller and Algonquin Road. Violators were issued written warnings or citations for the speed violations.
“It’s clear that many drivers are not complying with the posted speed limit of thirty five miles per hour” Said Sergeant Eric Decker, Supervisor of the Lake in the Hills Police Traffic Unit. “Lake in the Hills Police will be conducting more speed enforcement zones this summer and violators will be stopped by Officers. Drivers are warned that the safety of our residents is paramount and disobeying the posted limit puts not only you in danger but other motorists and pedestrians”
