In less than four hours after receiving information concerning a missing child who was thought to be in Amarillo, law enforcement mobilized a massive search in an attempt to locate the girl, ending in her safe return and the arrest of a man for sexual assault of a child.
The child, whose name will not be released due her to age and status as the victim of a sexual assault, disappeared from a home in Jasper, Alabama on the evening of February 8, 2015. The girl was located Thursday in Friona, Texas with the assistance of the Parmer County Sheriff’s Department, the Friona Police Department and the Amarillo based Homeland Security Investigations Task Force compromised of law enforcement agents from the Amarillo Police Department and the Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigations Division.
Marcos Perez-Velasquez H/M 18, of Friona, was arrested by the Friona Police Department in connection with this on-going investigation and was booked into the Parmer County Jail.
