A rabid cat was found near where you live yesterday. The cat was a Gray Domestic Short-Haired Male.

 

This occurred near Mebane Oaks Road and Old Hillsborough Road in Mebane. If you live in this area and were bitten, scratched or believe that you may have been exposed to this cat prior to Friday Night on May 8th contact the health department at (336) 570-6367 ext. 329 immediately.

If you live in this area and have outside pets, you should examine pets for any wounds that may have come from contact with this stray cat and notify animal control or the health department.

It is North Carolina law that cats and dogs be vaccinated against rabies. Rabies vaccination protects not only your pet, but also helps to protect you and your family.
