A state prison inmate has been placed on escape status after walking away from a minimum-security unit in Sioux Falls.
Inmate David Holloway was reported missing from Unit C, the minimum-security unit on the South Dakota State Penitentiary campus, this morning.
Holloway, age 36, is a white male with brown hair and brown eyes. He is 6-feet tall and weighs approximately 180 pounds.
Holloway is currently serving a 10-year sentence for grand theft out of Pennington County and a 2-year sentence for eluding a police officer out of Yankton County.
There are approximately 800 minimum-security inmates housed across the state, including 225 at Unit C.
