ISP Accepting Applications for Regional Dispatcher and Regional Dispatch Shift Supervisor at the Indianapolis Dispatch Center
The Indiana State Police is accepting applications for a Regional Dispatcher and a Regional Dispatch Shift Supervisor position at the Indianapolis Post to staff the Regional Dispatch Center that operates 24 hours a day 365 days a year.
Successful applicants for the Regional Dispatcher must be able to receive, record, disseminate and accurately dispatch information to police personnel, other law enforcement agencies and support services.
A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required as well as the ability to type 30 words per minute. Two years of public safety communications experience and emergency medical technician certification are preferred.
Pay starts at $30,082 per year.
Successful applicants for the Regional Dispatch Shift Supervisor will serve as a civilian employee of the Indiana State Police whose primary responsibility is to provide shift supervision to Regional Dispatchers to ensure efficient and accurate telecommunications operation relating to operational and personnel functions at the Regional Dispatch Center.
A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required. The applicant must be able to successfully pass a Department typing test. Must take a Department approved dispatch simulation test.
Must have a minimum of two (2) years experience as a Dispatcher in the public safety communications field. Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification is preferred. Ability to function as a Telecommunications Quality Assurance Specialist, including making recommendations for quality improvement. If not currently certified, must obtain and maintain certifications in all of the following areas: IDACS Coordinator, IDACS MDD Instructor, Association of Public safety Communications Official (APCO) Communications Training Officer and Indiana Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) instructor, maintaining the Generalist instructor rating.
Pay starts at $37,778 per year.
