Full Notification

On May 8, 2015 at approximately 11:58 pm a traffic collision occurred in the intersection of Olympic Boulevard and Swall Drive between a white 4 door Mercedes Benz with four occupants and a gray Audi SUV. The collision resulted in the fatality of an adult female passenger in the Mercedes Benz, who investigators believe was not wearing her seatbelt. The other occupants of the Mercedes Benz were transported to a local area hospital with non-life threatening injuries and the occupants of the Audi were not injured. This traffic collision occurred after what witness indicate was a “road rage” type incident and minor hit and run near Pico Boulevard and Swall Drive in the City of Los Angeles between the white Mercedes Benz and a taxi cab. The Mercedes Benz had fled this scene at a high rate of speed before colliding with the Audi, several trees and a concrete wall. Drugs or alcohol may be involved. The release of name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. The intersection of Olympic Boulevard and Swall Drive was closed for approximately five hours during the investigation by the BHPD Major Collision Response Team.
