Irwindale Police Arrest a GTA Suspect & recover a stolen "Irwindale Speedway" vehicle

On Thursday, May 7th, 2015 at approximately 9:29 A.M., Irwindale P.D. received a 911 call of a GTA that just occurred at the Irwindale Speedway, located at 500 Speedway Drive, Irwindale. An employee of the Irwindale Speedway, reported seeing a suspicious subject driving a yellow 1992 Honda Civic that belonged to the Irwindale Speedway. The suspect was seen driving the stolen vehicle out of the property.

Irwindale PD Officers checked the area for the stolen vehicle when another employee from the Irwindale Speedway reported that he located the stolen vehicle in the 300 block of Live Oak Avenue. Irwindale PD Officers responded to the scene and located the stolen vehicle and detained the driver. Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that the stolen vehicle, is used by the Speedway for promotional purposes and it was painted with “eyes & teeth” for this reason. The suspect, “Jesus Anthony Guerrero”, 23 years old, out of La Puente was taken into custody without further incident and arrested for Vehicle Theft. A “meth pipe” was also located inside the stolen vehicle after Guerrero admitted to leaving the pipe inside. Guerrero was also charged with being in possession of drug paraphernalia.

Guerrero was booked at Baldwin Park P.D. Jail and is scheduled to appear at West Covina Court on Monday, May 11th, 2015 at 8:30 A.M. The stolen vehicle was recovered and released to Irwindale Speedway representatives at the scene.
