The Irwindale Police Department Has Released a Free Mobile Application Designed to Connect with the Irwindale Community via Smartphones

The Irwindale Police Department has released a new, free mobile application designed to connect with the Irwindale community via their smartphones or tablet devices.

Anyone using an Android, Windows or Apple smartphone or tablet can download the app simply by going to their app store and searching for the “Irwindale Police” app.

The new app allows the police department to quickly disseminate emergency alerts to the community and to post crime alerts, information about missing persons and traffic delays, wanted persons information, media releases, and weekly crime reports directly to the user's smartphone device.

In the event of an emergency, app users will receive an instant notification via their mobile device using push technology.

The app also allows the police department to post information about the police department, including photos and images, contact and social media information, bulletins, a calendar of events, and even conduct community surveys.

Our community can also use the app to easily send comments and crime tips to the police department — anonymously if they wish — and to place calls or get directions to the Irwindale Police Department with the touch of a button. They can notify the department about suspicious activity and can easily send images such as graffiti, suspicious circumstances, etc. through the app.

“The Irwindale Police Department’s mobile app provides an easy-to-use method for two-way communication between our department and our community members,” said Chief Anthony Miranda, “It is a valuable tool for keeping the city of Irwindale safe and it reinforces our commitment to maintaining positive connections with the community we serve."

The Irwindale Police Department mobile application supports the department’s commitment to engage with the community in a timely manner through all sorts of social media. News that is distributed through the app also can be set to automatically post on the department’s social media accounts and distributed to the news media.

We encourage all of our citizens, our business community, media outlets and anyone with an interest in the Irwindale community to download our mobile app to stay connected and interact with the Irwindale Police Department!

WE REMIND EVERYONE THAT THIS APPLICATION IS NOT INTENDED FOR EMERGENCY NOTIFICATIONS TO LAW ENFORCEMENT OR EMERGENCY COMMUNICATION WITH LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES! IT IS NOT TO BE USED FOR SITUATIONS WHERE IMMEDIATE RESPONSE IS REQUIRED

ALWAYS DIAL 9-1-1 FOR AN EMERGENCY SITUATION.

The app is free and does not compromise privacy. The app does not collect any personal data and no personal data is shared with the police department.
