Avon Man Arrested for Child Exploitation and Possession of Child Pornography

Hendricks County – Wednesday May 6^th, 2015 the Indiana State Police, in conjunction with the Indiana Crimes Against Children Task Force, arrested 54 year old James Venable of Avon for child exploitation and possession of child pornography. The investigation began March 6^th, 2015 and eventually led police to a residence at 6876 Connie Drive in Avon. Investigators obtained a search warrant for the residence and executed that warrant earlier today. A search of the residence revealed evidence connecting Venable to more than 10,000 files of child pornography, he was subsequently taken into custody and transported to the Hendricks County Jail. There is no bond set at this time.

Possession of Child Pornography, IC 35-42-4-4(c)  is a Level 6 Felony punishable by six months to two and a half years in prison and a fine up to $10,000. 

Child Exploitation, IC 35-43-4-4(c) is a Level 5 Felony punishable by one to six years in prison and a fine up to $10,000.

The Indiana Crimes Against Children Task force is comprised of police officers from the Indiana State Police, The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the US Postal Inspector’s Office.
