SYNOPSIS
A cold low pressure system will drop into California from the Pacific Northwest on Thursday then slowly move into Arizona by late Friday night. This will initially lift the marine layer Wednesday night into Thursday which could produce drizzle or light showers. Cold and very unstable air will move into San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties around noon on Thursday, then move into Ventura and Los Angeles Counties later that afternoon and evening. While moisture will be limited, we rarely see air this unstable. There is a widespread slight chance of thunderstorms as a result with possible hail. The low amount moisture adds the most amount of uncertainty with this system, and could be the limiting factor. Showers could linger into Friday, but any thunderstorm chances should become confined to the mountains.
