Oakland, CA —Today, Tuesday, May 5, 2015, the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office has charged Donald D. Higgins for the murder of 14-year-old Davon Ellis. Higgins is also charged with two counts of attempted murder for shooting at two friends who were with Ellis.
Higgins has been a person of interest and was originally arrested in Hayward by the Hayward Police Department on March 1, 2015 for several crimes not associated with this homicide.
Background: On February 28, 2015, Davon Ellis, an Oakland Technical High School honor student and star athlete, was killed about 7:52 PM in the 3300 block of Brookdale Avenue as he was walking with some friends.
