CLEAN Team Arrest Two People in Peru on 10 Felony Counts

Peru – Last night, a criminal investigation by the CLEAN Team has resulted in the arrests of Brandi Cable, 36, and Stephen Cable, 39, both from 1169 Barksdale, Peru, IN. They are both incarcerated in the Miami County Jail to face felony charges for conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of chemical precursors, neglect of a dependent, and maintaining a common nuisance. Brandi Cable was also served with a Howard County arrest warrant for violation of the pseudoephedrine purchase law.

Yesterday at approximately 6:15 p.m., members of the team executed a Miami Superior Court I search warrant on the Cable’s Peru residence. Officers allegedly found a methamphetamine lab, methamphetamine, chemicals commonly associated with the production of methamphetamine, hypodermic needles, and smoking devices.

Brandi’s 16 year-old son and 13-year-old daughter were also at the home. The teens were initially placed into the care of the Miami County Division of the Indiana Department of Child Services. They were eventually placed with family members.

The CLEAN team is a recently created task force which has 11 law enforcement entities that have dedicated resources to fight narcotics in Fulton and Miami Counties.   CLEAN stands for Combined Law Enforcement Against Narcotics.  The task force’s main focus is narcotics enforcement with an emphasis on methamphetamine related crimes.

Law enforcement officers encourage anyone with information about the possession, distribution, or manufacturing of narcotics to call the Indiana State Police Drug Tip Line at 1-800-453-4756. Information can be reported anonymously.

All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
