DATE/TIME: April 29, 2015/9:40pm

INCIDENT: Attempted Residential Burglary

LOCATION: 12000 Block of Franklin Ct. Grand Terrace

SUSPECT(S): 4- Unknown Black Male Adults

VICTIM(S): Confidential

SUMMARY: On Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at approximately 9:40 pm, deputies from the City of Grand Terrace and Central Station responded to the 12000 Block of Franklin Court regarding a possible burglary in progress. The resident was reporting that 4- unknown Black Male Adults had gone to the front door of her residence and began banging on it. The resident was not expecting anyone and did not recognize any of the suspects outside. As the suspects continued to bang on the front door, one of them opened the side gate of the residence and entered the backyard. Once in the backyard, the suspect removed the screen from a rear window and began trying force it open. By that time, the resident had already dialed 911 and activated her home alarm system. All the suspects quickly left the location in an unknown vehicle and in an unknown direction. Upon the arrival of deputies and with the assistance of a Sheriff's helicopter, an extensive area search was conducted by both ground and air. Unfortunately, deputies did not locate any suspects or the vehicle.

Local law enforcement agencies have seen a recent and dramatic increase in this tactic used in the commission of residential burglaries.
