Updated Information on Fleeing Suspects that Shot at Police Officers Incident

On Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at approximately 5:28PM, Newark and Fremont Police Officers pursued a suspect vehicle over the Dumbarton Bridge for a home invasion crime that took place in the City of Fremont. The suspect vehicle turned westbound onto Willow Rd into the Business Park located at the 1300 block of Willow Rd in Menlo Park. Shots were fired at the pursuing Newark and Fremont Police officers by the suspects in that area. The officers were uninjured and did not return fire.

The three suspects fled on foot from the vehicle into the Business Park area. Menlo Park Police units and neighboring police agencies set up a perimeter in the area. Two suspects were apprehended. One suspect is outstanding, and officers are actively searching the area. The outstanding suspect is described as a black male, skinny build, wearing dark colored pants and a light colored sweatshirt last seen running eastbound on Hamilton Court. There are multiple officers out in the area with a perimeter set up looking for the 3rd suspect.

Two firearms were recovered; one was located by the suspect vehicle in front of 1374 Willow Rd and the other was located in the direction where the suspects ran. There will be updates as more information is available.
