On Wednesday, April, 29, 2015, at 7:00 pm, the Borough of Hawthorne will hold a public workshop in the Courtroom in the Municipal Building, 445 Lafayette Avenue to review a proposal to impose parking restrictions on certain streets during and after snow storms.  The goal of these new restrictions is twofold: to facilitate plowing of the snow, and to ensure the passage of emergency vehicles when needed.  After a presentation of the plan, the Borough will entertain questions and comments from residents and other members of the general public.

The specific restriction being proposed is for "No Parking When Snow Covered" on a single side of certain streets, which would allow that side of the street to be cleared of snow to the curb.  See attached list.

After public input, it is expected that an ordinance will be introduced at a future Council meeting, with another public hearing to be scheduled before adoption, with the intention of having new restrictions and associated signage in place before next winter.
