Indiana State Police Detective Receives Promotion
Indianapolis- Recently, Indiana State Police Superintendent Douglas G. Carter promoted Master Trooper Detective John C. Campbell to Sergeant/Polygraph Examiner Area V. He was selected after competing in a stringent written and oral interview process.
In his new capacity, Sergeant Campbell will attend a twelve week Certified Polygraph Examiner school held at the Northeast Counterdrug Training Center, Fort Indiantown Gap, Pennsylvania. Upon successful completion of the training, Campbell will be assigned to the ISP Polygraph Examination Unit in Area V.
Sergeant Campbell is a 25 year veteran of the Indiana State Police. He graduated from the Indiana State Police Academy in 1989 and was assigned road patrol duties in the Evansville District. In 1992, he was assigned to Area III as an undercover narcotics detective. Campbell was reassigned in 1996 to the ISP Drug Enforcement Section as an investigator within the Airport Interdiction Unit in Indianapolis. In 2012, he was reassigned to the Indianapolis District as a detective with Field Investigations where he worked until his recent promotion.
Sergeant Campbell is a graduate of North Vigo High School in Terre Haute, Indiana and received a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana State University. He resides in Marion County.
